Participation is open to high school students in grades 9 to 12.
Song lyrics must be original and reference seat belt use and personal responsibility.
Any style of music is acceptable (hip hop, rock, country, etc.).
Limit song to 3 minutes.
Students may use the melody of an existing song (original lyrics, though!).
Songs must be submitted by April 30, 2007. Finalists will be notified on May 7.
Include a copy of lyrics with your submission.
Performing your song:
Students must be able to perform the song following a press conference at the House of Blues in downtown Cleveland on Thursday, May 17, 2007 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. This will probably require missing some school.
Student performances should require minimal set up.
Students must be accompanied by an adult.
Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.
